Argo Blockchain and another bailout placing – will it ever generate free cash?

In short, the answer to that question is that there is more chance of me shagging Cheryl Cole. But now to the long answer as Argo Blockchain (ARB) has passed the hat around yet again for dumb fund managers to piss away other folks cash for the umpteenth time.

Argo Blockchain: You say it best when you say nothing at all

Argo Blockchain new CEO Thomas Chippas – how impressive is his CV?

Struggling and drowning in debt bitcoin miner Argo Blockchain (ARB) still describes itself in today’s RNS as “a global leader in cryptocurrency mining.” Heck, if it is a leader, I’d hate to see what one of the laggards looks like. Anyhow the global leader is spaffing shareholders cash has a new CEO, Tomas Chippas who joins with immediate effect. So what is his CV really like?

Argo Blockchain, forget the bitcoin price it NEVER makes money- ghastly interims out

At last year’s Sharestock, that fellow from Boatman Capital patiently explained how Argo Blockchain (ARB) never had made money and never would make money whatever the bitcoin price. And that is why its shares have a fair value of £0. Of course, as bitcoin surged in the first half of this year some investors with PhDs in ignoring FACTS thought they knew better.

The Luxembourg of bitcoin mining Argo Blockchain serves up another operational update with the really bad news missing

A trading update is meant to inform by posting key metrics. You can therefore assume that any company posting an operational update which excludes the key metrics has something to hide, that is to say bad news. And that brings us to a July operational update from Argo Blockchain (ARB).

Argo Blockchain – as predicted discounted placing, clearly far less raised than had been hoped

In the first half of 2022 Argo Blockchain (ARB) burned cash despite the bitcoin price averaging $37,000. With the bitcoin price higher than it was but nowhere near $37,000 let alone a level that would ensure cash neutrality, the company’s shares were ramped up to 17p on the basis of some low grade pumping. After the pump…

Argo Blockchain – off another 7% at just 11.25p – how is that 27.6p fund raise and the Deepverge bailout going? Deafening silence!

This is clearly a disorderly market. If the investor flagged up by Argo Blockchain (ARB) who was thinking of investing £24 million at 27.6p is going ahead the shares are dirt cheap as a trading buy. If not then, ceteris paribus, Argo will have gone bust by Christmas. It is a binary bet and Mr Market is telling you that it looks more like the adverse outcome than the positive one. Letter to AIM Regulation: suspend Argo Blockchain until it clarifies its financial position

Mr. Market is telling you that there is something horribly wrong at Argo Blockchain (ARB) and that could well be a looming insolvency. A company that really was going to raise £24 million at 27.6p as Argo promised it would on October 7 would not see its shares languishing at 12p to sell. Argo Blockchain – now just 14.75p: surely AIM Regulation must force a statement

Argo Blockchain – Dire monthly trading update & share price crash begs massive questions about rescue refinancing

Last Friday’s news of an emergency refinancing package at Argo Blockchain (ARB) made clear – as I explained HERE – how bad the cash crisis has become. Today’s September trading update makes it so clear that even Stevie Wonder can now see what is happening. The update is a car crash from start to finish but Argo uses its same cut and paste from better times and says that it is “pleased” to provide the update. Yeah: whatever.,..

BREAKING: Argo Blockchain faces US class action claiming fraud by company and directors

It never rains but it pours. I shall turn to today’s disastrous trading update from Argo Blockchain (ARB) shortly. But first, news comes in from New York of a potential class action against Argo ands its board, prompted by an investigation as to whether Argo and certain of its officers and/or directors have engaged in securities fraud or other unlawful business practices. Of course they have!

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Eccellenze, near the Nottingham Forest Wine Bar in Milan, I think your numbers are made up

Today is Canadian Thanksgiving so if this podcast is late it is because Darren and other folks in the socialist hell hole are giving thanks to a God they do not believe in for not being American. Normally they all celebrate with roasted turkey but after a few years of President Castro-Trudeau many of them have been forced to become vegans under the latest Hate Crime laws or will be chasing their cats as Felix will be the main course on the only special feast which is now affordable. The screenshot below relates to Zamaz (ZAMZ) as I discuss its latest acquistion where the numbers just do not add up. I also look at Versarien (VRS), Chesterfield Resources (CHF), Argo Blockchain (ARB), asking if the ptoposed funding is for real, and I discuss a weekend chat with ‘arry Adams of Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI).

BREAKING: Argo Blockchain – how will it ever get out of the Texas electricity pickle

This will, in years to come be seen as a case study in the invisible hand and creative destruction, that is to say capitalism at work. In times gone by when all the sort of poltroons who believe in Modern Monetary Theory also predicted that the bitcoin price would keep on soaring ad infinitum, there was a rush to build new mining plants in places where there was stacks of spare land and good hook-ups to readily available power, i.e. Texas.

Argo Blockchain Interims - when does it run out of proper money next?

Half calendar year numbers are predictably shite but thanks to the monthly trading updates, opaque as they are, we already had a fair old idea how much in the merde the company is, however much disgraced Peter Wall, and his PR gimps at Tancredi, who refuse to answer simple questions, might try to polish the turd.

Argo Blockchain – a 1-year anniversary of major, but far from isolated, corporate governance failure

Today’s news is that Argo has taken advantage of the bitcoin spike to borrow even more dollars.

Argo Blockchain – isn’t this a bit odd?

I have already explained why I would not be short of Argo Blockchain (ARB) despite its failure to address Boatman, crazy valuation and other issues. But today’s update on trading in August gives me another reason not to be long.

Times when it is best to retire to the pavilion

I have been a critic of Argo Blockchain (ARB) for an awfully long time. It is run by sharp promoters and backed by some nasty spivs. And it seems to me that it has failed woefully to address the issues flagged up a few weeks ago in the recent Boatman bear dossier HERE.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Three failures by the FCA that will come to haunt the useless tossers

In today’s bearcast I look at those failures in detail: Wildcat Petroleum (WCAT), Tirupati (TGR) where you might brace yourself for some language some may deem sexist and not very 2021, and Supply@ME Capital (SYME) where today’s extraordinary news really should alarm any holder. I also revisit Argo Blockchain (ARB) which has published its US listing prospectus HERE which I comment on. En passant, I look at share trading patterns in  Versarien (VRS) and Chill Brands (CHLL) and what they tell us about sentiment in what were last year’s Bulletin Board darlings. They are just so 2020 afren’t they?

Argo Blockchain spouts green shite but still will not answer fundamental questions so here is another!

Another day and another announcement from Argo Blockchain (ARB) the company that is spending $17.5 million buying some Texas scrub land worth $168,000. It is more green hype which might impress some of the ESG loving millennial fund managers who Chris Bailey is keen on, but cash guzzling Argo refuses to address the herds of elephants in the room.

BREAKING: Here is another multi million dollar lawsuit Argo Blockchain neglected to tell you about

There was no RNS when the papers below were filed on April 7. There is no mention in the annual report which came out 22 days later. That is a bit odd given that the cost of this case could run into millions of dollars. Who would have thought after yesterday’s shock revelations HERE that the fine chaps at Argo Blockchain (ARB) would either (again) stand accused of being such rotters and also not tell investors about price sensitive data?

Video: Argo CEO/Chairman Peter Wall fails to deal with Boatman report - 3 out of 10 for artistic interpretation, nil for technical merit

The proper way to respond to the Boatman dossier was via RNS but that needs regulatory sign off so the fellow who dumped millions of dollars worth of shares at 243p just a couple of weeks before Argo Blockchain (ARB) did a major placing at 200p recorded a video which you can see below. He covers the “report” but does not name it just in case folks actually are encouraged to go read it. It is a poor rebuttal.

BREAKING: Truly Explosive Bear Dossier on Argo Blockchain from Boatman - anyone owning this stock is bonkers, short it if you can

This 17 page dossier from Boatman Capital of Babcock (BAB) fame is just out this very second and is dynamite. I have repeatedly warned folks that Argo Blockchain (ARB) failed the smell test on a number of counts and that its valuation was insane but even I did not dream that things could be this bad. What is not alleged, but proved, in this dossier is dynamite and the shares should be suspended at once with heads forced to roll over what we now know. Of coursemillenial  ESG freak fund managers are still drooling over the company appointing 3 women to the board the other day. To them that is far more important than a Texas land deal that stinks to high heaven and a legal dispute which suggests the company has not a shred of corporate integrity.  The FCA may well consider a share suspension, ahead of that the shares are a nil brainer slam dunk sell/short This is superb research. Enjoy!

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: If Ron Pilbeam has not broken market rules either I'm a banana or the rulebook is a joke (or both)

Is the sound okay? The arrival of the Mrs and Jayarani means a change of recording location. I start with Peter Brailey’s Predator Oil & Gas (PRD) expose. If the FCA does not come down on director Ron Pilbeam like a ton of bricks we might as well all give up. Then I look at Vast Resources (VAST) – a total bargepole stock where I sniff a deeply discounted placing  – then challenge you on two counts regarding Online Blockchain (OBC) before considering Argo Blockchain (ARB) its strangely worded RNS today and whether it will still be solvent on St Ledger’s day.

EXPLOSIVE: Argo Blockchain – why did it hide bad news allowing director share dumping and £27m share placing?

Surely the FCA has to come down on Main Market listed Argo Blockchain (ARB) like a ton of bricks because it has today admitted that it suppressed and hid from investors bad news so that its shares could be pumped allowing directors to dump millions of pounds worth of stock and then, a few days later to do a £27 million placement. How can this not be a criminal breach of the rules by a £610 million capitalised company? Here is the shocking timeline.

Richard Jennings is 100% right (on this) - sack the board at Argo Blockchain at the EGM

Perhaps in 20 days time limp dick sad excuse for a journalist, the liar, Jamie Nimmo of the Mail On Sunday will report on this development at Argo Blockchain (ARB) and tell his dwindling readership that “he can reveal”. I can reveal the board has been given the option of buying the underlying crypto business for just £1.
